You need a USB / OBD‑II–to‑Ethernet (ENET) adapter — the same type used for BMW coding. Any cable sold as "BMW ENET" works. On Android, a Realtek RTL8156B / RTL8153 adapter has the widest device support.
Plug the OBD‑II end into the car's diagnostic port and the other end into your
device. Open the app and tap Scan, then connect to the car —
or type the car's IP. No car? Type demo to explore the app with
sample data.
Unlike iOS, Android doesn't auto-assign a link-local address, so set a static
IP on the Ethernet adapter in the device's network settings:
IP 169.254.10.10, subnet 255.255.0.0
(prefix 16). Some devices also require a gateway and DNS — use
placeholders like 169.254.10.1 and 8.8.8.8 (never
used; the car is link-local). The app's connect screen shows your interface
IPs and these values to copy.
