Pohjannaula is a read-only diagnostic app for Polestar 2 and Volvo CMA-platform vehicles. The short version: everything happens on your device, and we collect nothing.

Summary

• We operate no servers. The app has no backend, no account, no login.
• We collect no personal data, run no analytics, use no advertising, and perform no tracking.
• The app communicates only with your vehicle, over a local wired (Ethernet/OBD‑II) connection — never with us or any third party.
• Data read from the vehicle is processed on your device and shown in the app. It is not transmitted off the device by the app.
• Data leaves your device only if you choose to copy a report to the clipboard or share it yourself.

What the app reads from the vehicle

When you connect to a vehicle, the app sends standard read-only diagnostic requests (ISO 13400 DoIP / ISO 14229 UDS) and displays the responses. Depending on what you open, this can include:

• Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), part numbers, and ECU serial numbers
• Odometer reading, service intervals, key position, module uptime
• Diagnostic Trouble Codes (fault codes)
• Battery health, charge, cell voltages, temperatures, and other sensor values
• Live sensor values you choose to poll
• Any Data Identifier you query using the DID scan tool — on some ECUs this can include sensitive data such as GPS coordinates. The app only reads what you explicitly request.

This information may be personal to you or your vehicle. The app shows it to you and does not send it anywhere.

What we collect

Nothing. We have no servers and receive no data from the app. The app does not contain analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Where data is stored

Diagnostic data is held in memory while the app runs and is shown on screen. It is not written to a server. If you tap Copy report, the text is placed on your device's clipboard for you to paste wherever you choose — that action, and anything you do with the copied text, is under your control.

Permissions

• Local Network (iOS) / Internet & network state (Android): used solely to reach the vehicle over the OBD‑II Ethernet adapter on your local link. It is not used to send data to the internet.
• No location, contacts, camera, microphone, or other sensitive device permissions are requested.

Children

The app is a vehicle diagnostic tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes

We may update this policy; the effective date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be reflected in the app's store listing.
